This exceptional 2025 extra virgin olive oil comes from La Casa di Montegrossi, a historic Italian homestead surrounded by olive groves.

While not local, this oil arrives with deep local love. It was generously donated by Jay Nichols and family, longtime Sweet Beet fans, and carried all the way from their Italian homestead to support the Love Local Auction. We’re thrilled to share it.

This year’s oil is named “Sii Ottimista” (Be Optimistic), a reflection of a challenging harvest season shaped by weather stress, low yields, and persistence. Despite difficult conditions, a dedicated community came together to harvest what olives they could, embracing optimism, humor, and shared effort. The result is a limited-production oil that tells a story of resilience, place, and care.

Pressed in small quantities, this oil represents the essence of Italian olive oil making: thoughtful, seasonal, and deeply rooted in land and tradition. It’s meant to be savored slowly and shared generously.
